Posted October 08, 2018 12:30:01 Learn how to train kids to care about the environment and be more environmentally conscious, according to a new video series by environmental education and training company Eco-Learning.
The show, titled “I’ll Teach My Kids to Care About the Environment and Be More Environmental”, features two lessons, each designed to teach kids about their own environmental awareness and values.
The first lesson, titled: “The Environment” begins with a simple concept: “It is the best of all possible worlds.”
“I’ll teach my kids to know how to care,” said one parent in the video.
“It’s a lot easier to be in the world than it is to be a child,” said another.
“It is easy to get into an environment, but it is harder to become one,” said a third parent.
The second lesson, “The Ethics of the Environment” explores how environmental awareness affects a child’s decision making, such as whether to visit a designated wildlife sanctuary or not.
“I teach them to respect nature,” said the mother.
“They need to respect the environment for the sake of all that it is.”
The third lesson, which features a “How to Be a Better Environmentalist” guide, teaches students how to be ethical and considerate, including how to respect others, and how to support their communities and the environment.
The lesson series was created by the Environmental Education Network, an international nonprofit organization that provides a platform for educators, parents, and communities to connect, share and create learning opportunities.
It is an extension of a series of workshops for teachers, which began in June, which include a “Pledge to Kids” workshop, which focuses on the importance of supporting and educating children, and a “Caring For Our Environment” workshop for children ages 4-8.
